What shoes would describe your family members?

Shoes seem to say a lot about people. Some people have a different pair for each color of the rainbow , some people wear the same pair until they no longer can keep their feet dry in a rainstorm, others dangerously live on the edge and wear high heels despite winter weather advisories, and still others prefer to go barefoot even when running.
I, myself, am a New Balance gal. I have a pair for running, a pair for walking and a pair for work and even church. I never really thought about it much but the name brand seems to fit my personality. I like a sense of cushion with stability in my life. I am always trying to find balance between motherhood, wifehood,  careerhood, and runninghood. Now that I have entered my 40's New Balance is definitely the shoe for me.
My husband, I shall refer to as perhaps Converse. We grew up in the era where wearing untied , how dangerous is that, hi-top Converse with rolled up jeans was totally cool. He and I have spent many years "conversing" about such things as what should we do when we finally grow up,  why does our oldest daughter eat pencil erasers, why does our youngest daughter laugh like the cookie monster and growl while she eats, why is Converse still driving that old truck, why didn't we go on that Windjammer sailboat excursion? We converse a lot really about nothing. It is nice to run through this journey with a best friend even if we trip on untied shoe laces once in awhile.
The oldest daughter , Nike Girl,  is so colorful and full of life. 100% genuine leather, you get what you see, and are not disappointed. She bounces on her Nike shock absorbers 24/7. She wants action and can not wait to rise at 6:30 am especially on weekends. She asks questions constantly like Mommy how old do I need to be to skydive? Daddy will you always have to be my boss? What is the point of doing math anyway?  What would happen if the sun stopped shining and on and on and on. I am fairly convinced she is smarter than I am already.
The youngest daughter, Weebok, is learning to walk and run and jump and climb. She will probably grow to be like a cross training shoe. She is laid back one moment soaking up the sun and then spinning in the middle of the floor the next. She is just beginning to see what life is about through her soulful blue eyes and trying to figure out her family. Good luck with that.
What shoes would your family be?
Peace.

Running Report:  3 miles on treadmill watching squirrels play in the trees out back. That groundhog better not see his shadow!

  1. I just came across your blog. Very cute post...I like the shoe personality thing; which makes me think...if I were a shoe, what would I be? Wow...that's tough...I may have to think about that one... :) Welcome to blogland.

  2. Hmmm... I'd like to think of myself as a super sexy high heel, but truthfully, I'm probably more of a flip flop kind of girl -- relaxed and always in search of a fun time. Great post!
